Conveyancing is paid for by the buyer and seller who will normally appoint separate conveyancers to handle the legal work. The buyer pays for all conveyancing related to buying the property and the seller pays for all conveyancing related to the property sale. If you are remortgaging a property, you will normally pay for the conveyancing which covers both you and the mortgage lender, although some lenders offer incentives such as free legal work or cashback.
