To boost your chances of securing a mortgage there are a number of things you can do. Prepare for your application by getting all your supply teacher paperwork together – this includes evidence of your income going back at least 12 months (if you can). At the very least, you’ll need to supply payslips, copies of contracts and bank statements. If you don’t have at least 12 months supply history but have worked as a teacher and are employed on a fixed-term contract basis, you should also gather this paperwork. Providing a healthy deposit and maintaining a good credit history will also help boost your chances of getting approved for a mortgage.
